Philip Meade Sr. first began selling potatoes in the towns around Meath and Louth in 1977. Bringing delicious and nutritious potatoes to the people of the Northeast was a true calling for him, and Meade Potato Company was incorporated in 1982 by Philip and his late wife Emily.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Employing 400 staff and with a worldwide team of contacts, Meade Farm is truly one of our major international brands.
Members of the Meade Team gathered as part of Drogheda and District Chamber’s ribbon cutting event, formally welcoming them into the chamber family.
“Meade Farm is a world leader when it comes to food production and food supply. We are so lucky to have them in this region. They are a major player when it comes to employment in the district and we want to help them grow even further as part of our plans for the future growth of this Chamber,” CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.
The firm operates the only food grade potato starch extraction plan in Ireland and the UK and were the first company to export Irish potatoes abroad by the boatload.
